Diana Lumbala, the head coach of the 15UW Summit club team last season, brings a wealth of coaching experience. As an assistant coach for the Summit 18UW club in 2022/23 and a key figure in the Summit Spring/Summer Academy, Diana’s coaching journey is rooted in fostering a love for volleyball while emphasizing player development.
Hailing from Moose Jaw, SK, Diana’s volleyball journey began with club volleyball in Moose Jaw in elementary school, where she honed her skills and passion for the game. She later joined the Cougars Club 18U team, winning SVA provincials in 2014/2015, before joining the U of R Cougars Women’s Volleyball team (2015-2020). After the 2015-2016 season, Diana earned second star honors, showcased her prowess in major playoff matches, tied and broke records for the most kills in a 3-set match, and was recognized as the team MVP and Canada West Second Star honors in her second year (2016/2017) at the U of R. Her experience extends to representing the provincial team in 2014 and at the Western Canada Summer Games in 2015, traveling to Japan with the U of R Cougars Women’s Volleyball team to train and compete against high-performing volleyball athletes. Diana’s commitment to creating a positive learning environment reflects her passion for the game and dedication to athlete development
